During his two decades of service to our community, Commissioner Maddox served as City Commissioner, Tallahassee’s first Leadership Mayor and President of the Florida League of Cities. Maddox oversaw a close to a billion dollar budget and a workforce of almost 2,800. His leadership has guided Tallahassee through Blair Stone Road, Capital Circle, Cascades Park, Gaines Street, the Mayor’s Summit on Race Relations and brought our area’s leading STEM curriculum platform, the Challenger Learning Center, to downtown Tallahassee.

A product of Leon County Schools, Commissioner Maddox is the husband and son of elementary school teachers. He has served as a substitute teacher, PTO official, coach and member of the Leon County Schools Foundation. His two children are also products of the Leon County Schools system.

“Of all the headlines of the last two years about our school district, very few of them have been about things that further the goals of our school children. It’s time to right the ship and put the classroom first.”
